The captivating Deviant Moon Tarot deck was crafted using a unique blend of artistic techniques. To create each card, the process began with a detailed drawing, which was then scanned into a computer. Through the art of photographic manipulation, various textures were applied to bring the illustrations to life. An intriguing aspect of this creation involved sourcing materials from nineteenth-century tombstones, which provided inspiration for the clothing worn by the characters in the Deviant Moon. With great care and respect, the artist explored the graveyards of eastern Long Island, New York, in search of specific textures that would lend an authentic and haunting quality to the deck. Additionally, photographs taken at a local abandoned insane asylum were utilized to construct the background buildings in the cards. Decaying doors, windows, and walls were transformed into fantastical castles, factories, and cities, adding a layer of mystery and intrigue to the imagery.
